What happens if I don't renew my .nz Domain?

If you forget to renew your .nz Domain before the end of its Domain Date Billed Until date your Domain will expire.
If your Domain expires it means all services associated with the Domain (website, email etc.) will stop working.
If you find yourself in this situation, please be kind to your Domain registrar; they did not cancel your Domain - it simply lapsed due to non-renewal as was deactivated by the .nz registry.
Fear not though, if your Domain has expired it will enter a Pending Release status and you'll have 90 days with which to renew and reactivate the Domain.
Once this 90-day window lapses, the Domain will be released back into the public pool and anyone will be able to register it, which will relinquish any rights you had to it (although some scenarios exist where you may have rights to it.)
