We’re moving most Domains Direct customers to MyHost

It's all about getting you to more stable ground.

A lot of our customers will have received an email from us saying a sort of goodbye. If that's you, there's good news. Our sister company, MyHost is about to welcome you with open arms.

You may have noticed some issues here at Domains Direct lately - problems logging in, resetting passwords, transferring domains, and even just confirming prices at our checkout. These are all signs of instability in our technical platform, and they're all beyond our control. While we've been waiting on the supplier of that platform to fix things up, we've decided to move customers to more stable ground at MyHost.

Usually MyHost costs a little more than us, because it offers a higher level of service, more domain management tools, and handy options like managing your domains and Web Hosting in a single account. In a special offer just for Domains Direct customers, MyHost will provide all of this while matching our .nz domains price of $23.60/yr (+GST).

The move from our platform to the MyHost platform is known as a “migration”. For customers there’ll be somewhere new to login, with more bells and whistles on offer. For us, there is a happy goodbye to say to everybody, knowing that we’ve put customers first.

MyHost is our sister company. Same 100% NZ ownership, same team, same management. Quite a few of our customers already rely on MyHost for their Web Hosting, so for them we’ll be bringing things together more closely.

What you need to know if you're moving

The migration to MyHost will happen in a few weeks. If you’re on the move we'll email you in advance.

You won’t need to worry about nameservers, DNS or anything else technical. All you’ll need to do is create a new password and add credit card details, since we don’t copy that sort of data between systems for security reasons. We’re sure you’ll love the upgraded experience of being a MyHost customer.
