From 28 November 2017 individual registrants who are not in significant trade will be able to choose to withhold their phone number and contact address from publicly appearing in a .nz WHOIS search (to be known as a .nz domain query.)

The Individual Registrant Privacy Option means that while individual registrants are still accountable, they also have improved privacy controls if they choose.
